Excellent post! I like the way your broke the various topics down and made them easy to understand. I thought I’d add a bit about my own experiences blogging, if that’s okay. I’ve been blogging since 2004 and have pretty much experienced every high and every low someone can have during that time. I guess I would add to your post that those who begin blogging today and who plan on continuing for the long haul should expect to have mixed feelings about how their blog looks, how they name it, and how their category structure is set up as time goes on. A personal blog becomes near and dear to the heart, an extension of yourself, if you will, and it’s a tough thing to initially configure and keep exactly the same through the years. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve renamed, added, and deleted my categories on my own blog. I think I’ve finally got it squared away, but man, it’s enough to drive a guy crazy. I keep changing my mind, which only confuses people as well as the search engines. I think I just need to sit on my hands for a while and let things ride.
